Highlights:
• A design exploration built around the unique and restrictive geometry of the Lexus IS250 — a platform that offers very little freedom, making creativity both challenging and rewarding.
• A bodykit concept engineered to elevate a vehicle rarely modified in the industry, positioning it as a standout example of contemporary automotive styling.
• A visual identity crafted to be aggressive yet refined, focusing on coherent lines, a balanced silhouette, and a harmonious flow between all exterior elements.
• A fully client-driven project aiming to deliver a truly unique, last-generation aesthetic, tailored to high expectations and premium standards.
Challenges Faced:
• Working with the Lexus IS250’s complex and limited surface language, which restricts the possibilities for extreme modifications without disrupting the car’s natural proportions.
• Designing a bodykit on a platform that historically lacks aftermarket options — requiring fresh creativity and a strong understanding of Lexus design DNA.
• Meeting the client’s expectation for a highly unique, cutting-edge visual appearance, while maintaining structural realism and manufacturability.
• Ensuring that each line follows the next with precision to create a homogeneous, flowing, and cohesive exterior, despite the car’s original constraints.
Behind the Scenes:
• The design process began with a deep analysis of the IS250’s proportions, identifying the limitations of its body surfaces and sketching solutions that could expand its visual presence.
• Using Autodesk Alias and Blender, multiple iterations were explored to refine the silhouette, line continuity, and aero-inspired detailing, ensuring every component fit the character of the car.
• Unreal Engine was used to finalize the visual concept, testing materials, lighting, and aggressive styling cues to guarantee a modern, production-ready appearance.
• As a client commission, the design was fine-tuned to reflect personal preferences while respecting OZGARAGE’s design philosophy: coherent lines, functional aggression, and a signature premium identity.
